This song is a continuation of one of the band member’s past high school experiences. This time he looks at all the bad things his peers have done to him (“Why? You Gotta Bully Me All For Some Popularity?”) (“You’re Real Fakes, Pretend Face”) and how school officials would not do anything about the behavior (“You! and Your Friends! Are Protected By Superior Clowns”) and he asks himself why did all of this happen. Clarification: The quote “Makes Me Want To Burn Your Schoolhouse Down” does not actually mean to go burn your high school down, it is based off of feelings of the band member and how all the corruptness and toxicity in the school makes him to his stomach to the point he wishes something was done about it. Lastly, The quote, “You’re only high because of your dad! Realness and kindness is what you lack! You just want me to kiss your ass!” Explicitly refers to a current college basketball player who graduated from his old high school that gets to play for his dad, who is the head coach for the college’s basketball team. The reason he attacks him is mainly because he was part of the toxic majority at his school that would gossip about him behind his back and shun him.
lyrics
Why? Why? You Gotta Bully Me
All For Some Popularity?
Pick On Me, Talkin’ Shit
Fuck Your School Society!
Don’t Know Why, Don’t Know Why, I Don’t Know Why!
Don’t Know Why, Don’t Know Why, I Don’t Know Why!
You! You! And Your Friends!
Are Protected By Superior Clowns
You’re Real Fakes, Pretend Face
Makes Me Want To Burn Your Schoolhouse Down
Don’t Know Why, Don’t Know Why, I Don’t Know Why!
Don’t Know Why, Don’t Know Why, I Don’t Know Why!
You’re Only High Because Of Your Dad!
Realness And Kindness Is What You Lack!
You Just Want Me To Kiss Your Ass!
Don’t Know Why, Don’t Know Why, No I Don’t Fucking Know Why!
