The song is about one of the members of the band’s experience with people at his old high school. He was gossiped about as “Weird and Annoying” by his peers and was an outcast throughout his years in High School (Pick On Me Behind My Back) where he made little friends. He also recalls a lot of interactions with peers to seem fake, where they acted like they would care about him, but they would never really chat with him ever again or be part of the people gossiping about him (Pretend To Care, But You Really Don’t). Sometimes he wishes that he could’ve been able to fight back against the people that treated him poorly (Think You’re Popular You Get A Pass, But I’ll Grab My Community And We’ll Kick Your Ass), but unfortunately he was stuck with people who were too busy trying to be popular in the most toxic ways rather than real. Hench, Toxic Waste.
